Funny how the gb doesn't want to have their names associated with the words false prophets but after reading some of the articles that Blondie dug up, it`s like the gb has had this in the makings for a while. So they now have mastered the art of how to make their own prophesies about themselves come true without being known as prophets. Masters of deception for sure is what they are.

some background info on me: my dad became jw when i was young, so i spent maybe a third of my life in the religion.
although i respect everyone's beliefs, i personally knew many genuinely selfless people in my congregation, but the way i was raised, now that i am an adult i am realizing was very sheltered and unrealistic.

Faithful witness, I agree totally when it comes to hiring the mennonites. They are cheap and their workmanship is of good quality. They built our barn for us and did our eavestroughing around the house. However, I haven't met one that paints. I would hire them before anyone especially the witlesses.

That's not what we're listening to on Jewisheyes.org. They believe the Messiah has come and is coming again and the earth will be a paradise. Even Yeshuah stated in John 4:22 salvation begins with the jews. He didn't say a jew but the jews. There's a messianic hebrew movement that's multiplying worldwide and with no organisation, church or synogogues. No golden calf to follow.

Yeah, I hear you. The best part is when you go to tell the elders to take care of it, they end up coming to your home and reading the scripture on why not let yourselves be wronged. At least in our case that's what happened to us and the one elder that came was the very one who told another elder he will step over anyone to get to the top. When I look back in just the short time we were in, I think what a twilight zone. So glad we are out.

Did your congregation have a "Pioneer Appreciation Day"?
by Coffee House Girl inmy mom (who is now a regular pioneer) has been laid up after having major surgery, and i assert my "biblical" rights as a daughter to do what i can to take care of her, so i have been trying to go to her house on my day off to vaccum and run errands for her since she is not supposed to drive.. she called me last saturday to tell me that i couldn't come by because she was driving to her pioneer appreciation day get-together, wtf .
i'm just curious if this only happens in my area (michigan, us)????.

Like our elders wife told us that they deserve perks or else noone would want to do it. Yes, roses are bought and pool parties just for the elders, ms's and pioneers. Our friends were disgusted when their congregation wanted to have a dinner put on just for the labels and they wanted the publishers with no labels to serve them their meals and drinks. Labels are a wonderful thing, aren't they? Forget about abilities and qualifications to help the congregation to mature. It's not possible when there are no "gifts in men".

We had a so called brother who said he could paint and it was the worse nightmare ever. He told us since it was going through insurance that he was going to quote high. He never did finish the job and the insurance paid him and the insurance also paid for the new painter that replaced him. The new painter was way cheaper and better. Another brother took all our livestock and the deal was that he pay us in the spring once they had their babies. A year later I went up to him and asked for my five grand and he said he totally forgot he owed us five thousand dollars. Never again!

We were accused of that as well but only by those whose credit cards were maxed out living paycheque to paycheque. They were the ones that had to drive their cadillacs, have their swimming pools and speedboats along with three months of holidays per year and didn't own any of it or their big fancy homes. At least everything we have is paid for and we live well. We always had the money first before we bought. But what is the biggest hypocrasy is our po who had all the above telling another family not to be so materialistic. All they owned was an old fixer upper house.

Ray, we experienced some of the same things. One was cleaning up after bethelites were exactly dead on. They sure can party. One time there were only two sharing one of the houses and come Monday clean up there would be three garbage bags of empty beer cans and pizza boxes. No lie. That was just in two days they accumulated that amount of garbage. Took four sisters to clean up after these animals a whole day. Yet, we were reminded how we could count our time for this foolishness that was NOT spiritual! Two, I had my papers and ran a business in a certain field that they used me in yet was told to do things the way bethel did. Had to listen to an elderly brother who had no experience or papers(gone to college for almost four years for this career)tell me how he wanted things done. And we had to do it:(
